-
- Now that you've had nine months to get acquainted with DAVE'S TERM 128
- it's time you had some fun with your friends online. So Side Two of LS 128
- #29 is devoted to seven two-player games for use with DT128's "remote"
- mode. The instructions for the remote module are in Chapter 17, found on
- LS 128 #28, the previous issue. They state that this mode allows your
- computer to be a sort of BBS which can be called by a friend. While
- online, you can play:
-
- (1) Battleship
- (2) Stratego
- (3) Chess
- (4) Backgammon
- (5) Cribbage
- (6) Othello
- (7) Yahtzee
-
- You access the remote mode through the RECEIVE A CALL option on the
- main menu. Be sure to first set up your drives and terminal parameters as
- described in Chapter 17 of the instructions. From the RECEIVE A CALL menu
- set the Menu Drive, which is the drive where the files from Side Two of LS
- 128 #29 are found.
-
- NOTE: You can copy all of the files to a 1581 disk with the rest of DT128
- (if you use one) or you can leave all of the games files on a 1541 disk
- (like LS 128 if you get the 5.25 inch version) in the drive set by "Menu
- Drive".
-
- Then select REMOTE+ from the menu to load the "remote.mod". You'll see
- a directory option which you can use to see all of the files on the games
- disk, or you can press ESC to get back to the RECEIVE A CALL menu.
-
- Now select "Receive a Call" and you'll get a prompt, "By your command-
- >". The instructions give you a list of the keys you can press. Press S
- for the Submenu and you'll get another prompt, "Subcommand->". Press E to
- get a menu of the various emulation modes. Then press O for the Online
- games menu. The menu gives you some information about each game, whether
- it's C/G or ANSI, or C/G, ANSI or Proterm. After you choose a game you can
- read a HELP file to see how it's played or start playing.
-
- Have fun with the games!

- MINOR BUG REPORT
- ----------------
-
- Don Graham, a DT128 fan, reports that the file copier built into DT128
- can produce a "burst command error" on C-128Ds. The solution is to reset
- your drive before copying by using the recessed switch on the right side of
- the C-128D box. Don is a good friend of LOADSTAR and an expert on many
- aspects of DT128. He's volunteered to help any subscriber who sends him a
- self-addressed stamped envelope. His address:
-
- Don Graham
- 417 Phirne Road
- Glen Burnie MD 21061
-
- Thanks, Don!
