  10.     Now that you've had nine months to get acquainted with DAVE'S TERM 128
  11. it's time you had some fun with your friends online.  So Side Two of LS 128
  12. #29 is devoted to seven two-player games for use with DT128's "remote"
  13. mode.  The instructions for the remote module are in Chapter 17, found on
  14. LS 128 #28, the previous issue.  They state that this mode allows your
  15. computer to be a sort of BBS which can be called by a friend.  While
  16. online, you can play:

  18.  (1) Battleship
  19.  (2) Stratego
  20.  (3) Chess
  21.  (4) Backgammon
  22.  (5) Cribbage
  23.  (6) Othello
  24.  (7) Yahtzee
  25.  
  26.     You access the remote mode through the RECEIVE A CALL option on the
  27. main menu.  Be sure to first set up your drives and terminal parameters as
  28. described in Chapter 17 of the instructions.  From the RECEIVE A CALL menu
  29. set the Menu Drive, which is the drive where the files from Side Two of LS
  30. 128 #29 are found.

  32. NOTE: You can copy all of the files to a 1581 disk with the rest of DT128
  33. (if you use one) or you can leave all of the games files on a 1541 disk
  34. (like LS 128 if you get the 5.25 inch version) in the drive set by "Menu
  35. Drive".

  37.     Then select REMOTE+ from the menu to load the "remote.mod".  You'll see
  38. a directory option which you can use to see all of the files on the games
  39. disk, or you can press ESC to get back to the RECEIVE A CALL menu.

  41.     Now select "Receive a Call" and you'll get a prompt, "By your command-
  42. >".  The instructions give you a list of the keys you can press.  Press S
  43. for the Submenu and you'll get another prompt, "Subcommand->".  Press E to
  44. get a menu of the various emulation modes.  Then press O for the Online
  45. games menu.  The menu gives you some information about each game, whether
  46. it's C/G or ANSI, or C/G, ANSI or Proterm.  After you choose a game you can
  47. read a HELP file to see how it's played or start playing.

  51.  MINOR BUG REPORT

  54.     Don Graham, a DT128 fan, reports that the file copier built into DT128
  55. can produce a "burst command error" on C-128Ds.  The solution is to reset
  56. your drive before copying by using the recessed switch on the right side of
  57. the C-128D box.  Don is a good friend of LOADSTAR and an expert on many
  58. aspects of DT128.  He's volunteered to help any subscriber who sends him a
  59. self-addressed stamped envelope.  His address:
